Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Working Safely
Introduction
Working Safely is a one-day course for staff from any sector with no supervisory or managerial responsibility. It provides a grounding in the essentials of health and safety – everyone at work should have an understanding of why they must ‘work safely’ and this course offers exactly that. Working Safely introduces a completely new approach to health and safety training and offers all the basics in a high impact interactive package.
Certification For delegates who attend the course and successfully complete the written and practical assessments, there is a choice of an IOSH Working Safely certificate or passport card.
IOSH: Founded in 1945, the IOSH is Europe's leading professional body for health and safety practitioners. IOSH works to advance the safety, health and welfare of people at work, and those affected by work activities. IOSH recommend that the Managing and Working Safely Certificates are valid for three years.
The IOSH Working Safely course is specifically designed for all the workforce in order for them to perform their duties safely and effectively in compliance with both their organisation's policy and best practice in health and safety. During the course there will be mock assessments by which you will be able to gauge your progress and understanding of health and safety management. The final session will consist of an assessment set by IOSH. The course lasts one day. The final assessment will be marked by QM&Ttutors and moderated by IOSH. Successful candidates will receive a Working Safely Certificate accredited by IOSH. Please note that the whole process of marking and moderation by IOSH takes about eight weeks.
