CIEH Charted Institute of Environmental Health
Founded in 1883, the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) is a professional and educational body, dedicated to the promotion of environmental health and to encouraging the highest possible standards in the training and the work of environmental health professionals.
The CIEH Basic Food Hygiene Options Course consists of a Foundation Module which covers the essential information relevant to all food handling activities. The Food Hygiene Options is a modular training one day training programme based on a core of knowledge and understanding. Students who successfully complete an assessment following foundation module training will be eligible for certification. Additional Modules cover a range of subject areas enabling application of core knowledge to secure good hygiene practices. A Food Hygiene Options certificate will record the achievement of each of the additional modules successfully completed.
Foundation Module
The course will cover:
- Part 1 Introduction to Food Hygiene
- Part 2 Food Poisoning and Microbiology
- Part 3 Prevention of Contamination and Food Poisoning
- Part 4 Personal Hygiene
Additional Modules (Available depending on demand)
The course will cover:
- Module B Cleaning and Disinfection
- Module C Food Pests
- Module D Premises and Equipment
- Module E Food Safety Legislation
