Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) Certificate & Diploma Courses

The Institute of Quality Assurance (IQA) was granted a Royal Charter by Her Majesty the Queen in 2006 and they became the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) on 1 January 2007.

The CQI who is the professional body sets the syllabus for both the CQI Diploma and the CQI Certificate in Quality.  Quality Management & Training (QM&T) as a registered and accredited CQI Education Centre, deliver both the CQI Diploma and the CQI Certificate by distance learning.

Both courses, the CQI Certificate and the CQI Diploma, provide the student with a clear route to obtaining a prestigious qualification in Quality Assurance and Management.

QM&T Quality Assurance Credentials
QM&T are a Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) registered Education Centre. This together with our team having over fifty years experience of working with the CQI, means that you can study with us with confidence. Our CQI experience includes not only setting, marking and assessing CQI examination papers but also writing the standard textbooks for the various modules. All of our students have unlimited access to QM&T's Support Team of professionals who have been especially selected for their recognised knowledge and experience in the field of quality assurance training and consultancy.

The CQI Diploma in Quality
The CQI level 5 Diploma in Quality (Aussurance & Management), launched in September 2002, replaced the old A11, A12, B2, B6 etc. It includes the following modules:

  • D1 Principles of Quality and Data Analysis
  • D2 Quality Management
  • D3 Tools and Techniques
  • D4 Communications and Project Management
  • D5 Quality Project - Major assignment - no exam

Elective Modules: one to be selected

  • D6 Quality & Environmental Management
  • D7 Information Technology & Quality Management

D6 & D7 are elective modules.  In total only six modules must be completed to achieve the CQI Diploma qualification.

Inline with CQI requirements, all these modules are now available as distance learning courses from Quality Management and Training Limited.


The Diploma course provides the student with a clear route to obtaining the prestigious qualification of Diploma in Quality (Assurance & Management) and facilitates the membership of the CQI (with appropriate quality experience). These courses not only afford the opportunity for CQI membership, but can also be taken individually, providing the student with a widely recognised and greatly respected qualification, enhancing their quality currency. The delegate can work at their own pace towards the ultimate goal of a Diploma in Quality and a membership of the CQI. 

 

Distance Learning Package Content
Each of these modules are stand alone private tuition packages which allows the student to work at their own pace through the training material.

The distance learning material meets the requirements of the CQI Diploma syllabus which consists of six modules D1, D2, D3, D4, D5 & D6 or D7, which will be sent to you upon completing a QM&T student application form together with the relevent fees.  Each of these packages include:

  • A textbook specifically compiled and created to support and reflect the CQI syllabus.
  • A course workbook which includes self assessment exercises and solutions
  • An Assignment brief (except for D5 - which is a project report) to be completed by mid November for the January exam or by mid April for the June exam.
  • Passed exam papers
  • One year's tutorial support is provided by telephone, fax, e-mail or written correspondence as and when required.

Business Benefits

  • Have sufficient information to competently and confidently attempt the CQI examinations and assignment.
  • Be clearly aware of the aims, objectives and benefits of "Quality Management".

Important note for companies:
Students have to complete a number of assignments associated with their course. Often these assignments take the form of work based projects, which with no exaggeration has resulted in students achieving hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of quality improvement and productivity savings for their company. The cost of the course pales into insignificance when compared to the possible savings and greatly enhanced staff potential.

Duration
Please note that the CQI recommends at least 120 hours dedicated study time should be allocated for each module.
