Lean

Introduction to the Lean course

Lean, often referred to as Lean Manufacturing or Lean Production, is the optimal way of production, by the removal of waste and anything impeding work flow. Lean manufacturing is a generic term and a management philosophy, which has its roots in Toyota Production System - specifically MUDA or OPTIMUM.  It is because of Toyota's impressive and huge growth from a small company to one of the most valuable and largest automotive manufacturer, that has focused many organisation's attention on emulating Toyota's methods and philosophies.

Although often referred to in a manufacturing context Lean has equal (if not better) application in the service industries. Lean Service is the application and implementation of all the successful 'Lean' waste and cost reduction techniques, but interpreted and applied for the Service Industries.  This course is adapted for delegates from either industry as necessary.

Lean training facilitates reductions in cost and waste, also Lean organisation's that have undergone extensive lean training and lean consultancy are much better placed to survive in the increasingly competitive global markets.
